now open - oh ginger

After hours upon hours of stitching, my tiny little crafty shop is open! I've struggled for close to a year with the idea of starting up again, and to be honest, it just needed to happen. I'm continuing to work on other pieces, but for now I'd like to share with you two new lines from oh ginger - HONOR and HOME.
The idea for these pieces came to me during the heated discussions and debates regarding the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell. It became apparent to me that there were warriors in all facets of my all facets of OUR lives. Whether they're GLBTQ folk in the military, gender warriors, brave people fighting on the front lines of social injustice, or strong and courageous people fighting through personal battles, we all deserve a badge of honor at some point. The meaning is up for you to define. These pieces are available at oh ginger for $14/each and $3 of each sale will be donated to the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, a non-profit legal action group striving to promote a safe and equal workplace for LGBTQ members of the armed forces.

Those who know me well know that I love the old fashioned shape of a house. I've decided to play on my embroidered pieces from the past with this simple and modern twist on the house. I wanted to acknowledge that many pieces, or people, come together to make a home and that the foundation of a home is love. Cheesy? Perhaps. But I genuinely love the spectrum of warm and inviting homes I've created here and I hope you do, too.

Please stop by oh ginger and let me know what you think!
